| Good Run of Bad Luck in 2010 The 2010 season has not been kind to the #16 so far this year. It was a mad dash to get the motor ready by opening night. But a unforeseen leak kept the team home and the car parked for race #1. Hopes were high in race #2, when Jimbo started on the pole and lead 21 of 25 laps. Then a late caution bunched the field back up. The driver of the 2nd place car thought it best to shove Jimbo up the hill and send him back to last place. (A move that cost that driver a win too.) Then there was race #3 on May 15th. Jimbo hit the wall on his second qualifying lap. Other then some a few dings to the right side wheels, it seemed like no harm no foul. Jimbo started in 5th place. But as our streak of bad luck continued, the car was pushing in the turns and Jimbo couldn't do much with it. He was running as high as third at one point and hanging just a car length back from second. but lap after lap there was just no holding off the competition. By the end of the race Jimbo finished where he started in 5th place. Despite the bad start, the #16 finds itself 6th in points, a miracle all things considered. While there's not much chance of a championship run in '10, the team hopes to crack the top 5 and race for wins for the remainder of the season. Stay tuned! Next race comes up Saturday, June 12th. |
